A few more....

Well having made the special 50th (see post below) the person who asked me to make it didn't like it!! I was asked to make another one like the one I made for their birthday. The green one is more or less identical but I have made the other 2 to be sure. Having said that I am not sure what is really required here and i dont have any idea what the recipitant likes or dislikes as I dont know them.

Busy crafting

I have three birthdays in December all in the first week!!. So I have used the same sketch but different magnolia stamp for each. Love the prima flowers also. i have used Bo Bunny papers and craftwork cards sentiments along with my faithful trusty nestabilities.Out came my copic markers once again and just a teeny weeny bit of glossy accent. I also used my Martha Stewart doily punch and the centre of the flowers are tiny pearl flower embellishments. Whilst I occasionally use the Kanban kits ie patchwork pals etc I do get more satisfaction from making cards from a complete blank canvas.

Special 50th

My sister in law asked me to make
special 50th birthday card for her friend so I decided to practise my newly aquired paper folding technique. The request was for a girlie card and as the birthday is a December birthday I decided to use christmas colours. The card folds as a gate fold card and I have decorated the front page also. I also made my first envelobox to put it in. The photos haven't really captured the true colours of the card but it gives an idea. I really must improve my photography skills!!

Friendship book

I went to a workshop today at Windmill Crafts and had a fab time making a friendship book. The papers were Bo Bunny papers and the stamps are all magnolia stamps. Once again (what a surprise!!) coloured in with copic markers. Mel from Ideal World was showing us how to make the book and the class lasted 5 hours. Whew... Great fun to spend a day crafting. I am quite pleased with my first attempt at my little piece of art work. The book uses 12 x 12 papers to make a 6 x 6 booklet but you can use any size obviously.

The letters are cut using a cricut which i do not own unfortunately.

The copics I have used are the oranges and turquoise for this image.

I have used turquoise and red for this one.

The key to the success of this

booklet is the folding.Sharp folds really help the papers to fall into shape

A couple of cards

A christmas card with magnolia stamps not really christmas ones but coloured in the christmas theme and a birthday card for my son to give to my younger son. The stripes are not purple but brown. The photo has not picked up the colours very well.

Wednesday 28 October 2009

Thought you might like to see my dining table! Craft stuff has taken over. You can make out my Patchwork pal images I stamped and coloured to the left of the picture which have now been made into a christmas card. The table has been cluttered for a while as i usually pack up my christmas craft stuff and put away upstairs but while I am using it I cant be bothered to keep packing it away and get it out again much to my families disgust. Oh well only a few more weeks and then it can all go away until next year!!

Christmas tree

This is the papermania christmas tree from the signature range stamped and embossed with holographic embossing powder to give it a nice glittery look. A quick simple christmas card but must admit missed my colouring in.
I have been colouring in my new magnolia tilda with peaches stamp this evening. Inspiration from Messy stamper I didn't have all the colours in the recipe but had most so have been playing and having a great time. A change from christmas now and again is just whats needed.

Polar Bears

Love this woodware polar bear stamp but sadly not much colouring in :(
Used labels one nestabilities for this one.

Anniversary cards

Here are three cards I made for mum & dads wedding anniversary. Dad asked me to make one for mum , mum asked me to make one Dad and I made one for me for both of them ! I have used Kanban card, sizzix die cuts nestabilites embossing folders penny black stamp and copic colouring

Patchwork pals from QVC

Although I haven't blogged for a while I have been busy card making as this is a busy time of year birthday wise for me not forgetting christmas cards too!! This card was made using the QVC patchwork pals kit for my eleven year old niece.

Just a few more Christmas cards

Just love the Daisy & Dandelion christmas papers. The rich red and green papers are sooo nice. The sentiments are from the paper pack also. These are just a selection I have made using my magnolia stamp, pink gem rudolph stamp and craft uk santa and penguin set. I have had so much fun colouring them in with my copic pens. I have been searching for fabric christmas flowers ie poinsettia's to no avail , so decided to get the sizzlit die and make my own paper ones!! The father christmas' in the craft uk set are adorable. I have one problem I keep stamping and colouring so I have loads of images to make into cards.LOL.The magnolia card has been coloured with promarkers- my superbargains from hobbycraft. Still prefer my copic though.

Xmas Magnolia

Made a start on my christmas cards. This one is a new (to me) Magnolia stamp. I bought some promarkers in the sale and was comparing to my copics.Think i prefer copics as i like the brush nib rather than the felt pen feel but they are ok. The papers are from the Daisy & dandelion do craft xmas pad and finished off with a diecut snowflake. Apologies for the picture there seems to be a bit of flash back. Oh and I had some good news the other day I won a prize in Beautiful cards. My cards have been printed in the readers letters issue 35. Cant wait for my goodies to arrive.

Wet & Rainy September !!

Well school holidays over and all back to normal. A busy month ahead on the cardmaking front in fact a busy few months. Nearly everyone I know has a birthday between Sept & Dec not to mention Christmas cards. This birthday card is for a friend and I have used my Sarah kay stamp and some craftworkcard accessories from the chocolate range. The stamp is coloured in with copic's.

Tuesday 4 August 2009

These are some of the designs from pink gem stamps. If you look below you will see a funky snowman xmas card. Janet the designer and owner is offering some blog candy why dont you take a look.

Monday 27 July 2009

Got a busy few weeks ahead on the card front. I have recently made a 40th ,50th and 60th and Golden wedding anniversary card for my mum but forgot to take pictures.OOps.

I have now made another 40th and still have a 50th to make for me, for the same people, so need different designs and styles!

I also need a wedding anniversary card for OH at the weekend and birthday card for son for August.I am also trying to get ahead with my xmas cards so will post some of those soon. I have the patchwork pals kit and some pink gem stamps along with lots of other things from previous years so have lots to play with. Now we have the school holidays upon us I have a little bit of spare time as I get school hols off too..yippee. Off to check out some flower diecuts so I can cut my own. Fed up cos my super bargain flowers have been lost in the post they were posted a fortnight ago and no sign of them so have now given up hope of ever getting them.

The blue card has been made with Kanban card as the base and papermania textured card which has been embossed with swiss dots and floral border. I have used craftwork card flowers. One is lightly inked blue and the other embossed with the swiss dots folder. The pearl gems are from lakeland so once I have used them all up will have to find some somewhere else. The stamp is a Sarah kay masked over an inkadinkado stamp and coloured in with copics.

The lilac card has DCWV pocket full of posies card on it and the stamp is a Wild Rose studio stamp. Coloured in with copics and then I have used a versamark pen to pick out the flowers and added clear embossing powder to add dimension . I have also added coloured gems to the flowers. The flowers are from the craft section of WH Smiths and the centre is a papermania jewelled brad.

So little time to craft

In between ironing and mundane housework I have managed to squeeze in a bit of crafting. LOL. All are coloured using copic pens and include magnolia stamps, sugar nellie and sarah kay. Once again I have used nesties cuttlebug emboss folders gems ribbon and flowers!!! The Sarah Kay stamp has been decoupaged over an inkadinkado "welcome to my garden Stamp" inspired by Alison at a craft class I went to early last month at Windmill crafts. I have now got myself some of the masking stuff (cant remember its proper name) and have been having a play with that. Am going to be busy over the next few months as everyone I know seems to be having birthdays in the latter half of the year. I also have a 40th, 50th and 60th to do in September and have to come up with 2 of each. Aaaargh.

A wedding card

A card for a colleague at work. The stamp is a QVC foam stamp which i think is rather quite cute!. Once again label nestabilities, papermania exquiste papers and core'dination card. Martha Stewart punch and cuttlebug emboss folders. ( can you see a recurrent theme here, not to difficult to guess my favourite tools at the mo)

A collection of Sarah Kay

More cards using the Sarah Kay stamps and copic pens. Also used are nesstabilities, cuttlebug emboss folders and Martha Stewart punch. The flowers are Flora doodle ones and sentiments from Craftwork cards.

Been Busy

Bought another Sarah Kay stamp!! Have used papermania exquiste papers cut out with my labels nestabilitie , copic marker pens to colour in and embellished with a craftworkcards flower and butterfly. Still got loads of coloured images to make into cards. I have also used the copic spica glitter pens on the spots of the bow and the centre of the flowers.

5 minutes for crafting

Have just started to make this card with a lovely sugar nellie stamp from Funky kits . I have not quite finished as it needs a sentiment adding but will wait until I know who I am sending it to. I was lucky enough to get a lucky bag and this was one of the stamps included. Coloured with copic pens.I have used my cuttlebug swiss dots emboss folder and nestabilities. I have used some self adhesive silver border but am awaiting my first Martha stewart punch.

Colouring In

Lots of colouring in later!!! Now I need to make some cards. A selection of Pink Gem, Sarah Kay, Sugar Nellie, Wild Rose Studio and penny black stamps ( see links of favourite websites on the right) I have been playing with my copic marker pens and I love love love them !!!

Last Minute

Made this at the last minute as father's day sort of crept up on me! Coloured in with my copic pens and a bit of glossy accents.

Wednesday 17 June 2009

Here is a picture of a birthday card I made for an 11 year old. I used the crafters delight fairy castle template and decorated with smirk decoupage. The girl waving from the window is from a set from the woodware clear range and was coloured in with Sakura glitter pens. Word of warning don't make the same mistake as me and make sure you position the largest turret so it will fit in an A4 envelope!!!

Cant wait...

I have been happily colouring in my stamped images but am waiting on a delivery of some petite oval nesties before I can complete my cards. I couldn't understand why my Sarah Kay stamps wouldn't fit on my classic ovals but have found out that the petite ones are bigger!!. Apparently the petite refers to the size of the scallop and not the oval. My preference at the moment are my copic pens but I coloured an image with my whisper pens tonight and you really can see a difference. The whisper pens really do show a different effect and give more of a watercolour feel whereas the copics do look like blocks of colour. I need to get a move on with Fathers day cards as its nearly here.... oh no....
